EVIDENCE EXCHANGE JOINS U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE “SAFE HARBOR” PROGRAM

(New York, NY) - July 7, 2008: Evidence Exchange, a leading provider of E-Discovery Consulting and E-Discovery Processing Services, announced its recent certification with the Safe Harbor Program of the US Department of Commerce. By registering on March 19, 2008 as being “Safe Harbor” compliant, Evidence Exchange has acknowledged its understanding and compliance with The European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection. The Safe Harbor Program enables U.S. companies to meet European requirements for data privacy protection. Participation in the Program should streamline data transfers because it ensures that data can be lawfully transferred from collection sites in the European Union to Evidence Exchange in the United States for “best of breed” E-Discovery Processing. Previously, such assurances related to European data privacy concerns had been addressed by Evidence Exchange in individual engagement letters. By registering the entire company in Safe Harbor, our clients will no longer need to address this privacy concern at the contract level.

Organizations that participate in Safe Harbor must adhere to a privacy policy that meets the safe harbor framework and declare publicly that they do so, as described at http://www.export.gov/safeharbor/SH_Overview.asp.
