NEW YORK, NY (January 11, 2011) Evidence Exchange will once again sponsor the Sedona Conference Working Group Series in 2011 / 2012. This is our fifth year of corporate sponsorship and eighth year of individual involvement. We applaud and salute the continuous contribution and dedication of The Sedona Conference to achieving dialogue and enlightened public policy.
The Sedona Conference® is a 501(c)(3) charitable research and education organization founded in 1997 to provide a forum for lawyers, academics, experts and the judiciary to come together to solve problems in the areas of complex litigation, intellectual property rights and antitrust law. Three regular season conferences are held annually, one in each of the three core subject areas. These small, high-level sabbatical-like conferences are dialogue-based and designed to identify "tipping point" issues in the law. Mini think-tanks called Working Groups are created to tackle these specific issues through dialogue and consensus, and the Working Groups produce publications exploring the issues and providing principles, guidelines, or "best practices" of immediate, practical benefit to the bench and bar.
Through distribution of the Working Group publications and development of broader educational programs based on Working Group materials, The Sedona Conference® seeks to move the law forward in a just and reasoned way. It has expanded over time to include eight Working Groups with additional initiatives under consideration. Its publications have been received with acclaim and are cited in judicial opinions as well as in media reports and by experts dealing with the issues.
